Certified instructors of the Transcendental Meditation program for Western North Carolina:

Tom Ball was trained by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and has taught the Transcendental Meditation technique for over 35 years. He earned a BA in Western Philosophy from Maharishi University of Management and an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University. Tom has enjoyed a rich career of lecturing and teaching across the US and around the world, and currently writes for The David Lynch Foundation. His passion for cycling the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking his native mountains has brought him back to Asheville, where he volunteers as director of the Asheville TM Center's meditation courses, advanced knowledge programs and retreats. His writing has appeared in The Paris Review and other literary journals.

Jeanne Ball has been practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique since 1973 and became a teacher of the TM technique in 1975, personally trained by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. She received a PhD in World Peace Studies from Maharishi European Research University. Jeanne has traveled the world teaching the TM technique. She is a writer for the David Lynch Foundation and her articles on meditation are featured regularly on The Huffington Post. An excellent Ayurvedic vegetarian cook, she enjoys hosting events for the community and volunteers with her husband Tom as co-director of the Asheville TM Center.
